Calculate Total Area of Room
Multiply Area x Recommended Foot-candles (FC) from FC Chart Below
(Area x Foot-Candles) ÷ (Fixture Lumens x .72) = Qty of Fixtures Required

Light intensity is measured in foot-candles (FC), which technically is one lumen of light per square foot. Fixture specs should indicate its lumens (units of visible light). Generally, the higher the fixture's lumens, the higher the foot-candle level, or the more the light emitted.
